Managing the Inventory

Difficult Decision

From the inception of Baby Sweaters by L'Agneau and the creation of the Website,

I have struggled with the question of Website or Retail stores.

I appreciate that having my Baby Sweaters in retail locations gives my brand visibility,

but there are reasons that I feel outweigh that visibility.

First, each of my products requires many hours of hand knitting using fine quality natural fiber yarn. The price of each sweater reflects both the time and quality of the product. When I place my Baby Sweaters in a retail location, I have to share the profits with the store owner. While this is only fair, there is a delicate balance to consider the profit margin with my investment of labor and materials.

Second, I give up control of my products when I place them at retail locations. I cringe, knowing that my little sweaters fall on the floor and get snagged by hangers, many hands touching and feeling. Although I know how sturdy these little sweaters are, I can't be assured that they will be cared for in the way that I would like.

So, for now, Baby Sweaters by L'Agneau will be sold exclusively on-line.

I am hopeful that my customers will find my website and that social media will be the platform that helps to grow my brand. Please share my website with your friends - and I will keep on KNITTING.
